@smfa Ackerman panel “Democracy” liberates/crushes the order of temporal, visual, and auditory experience, which somehow ties me back to an Henri Bergson quote, “The pure present is an ungraspable advancement of the past devouring the future.”
It’s just frames and frames of 70s New York City streets, chaotic but vibrant, with the director reading letters from home. It’s hypnotizing. Along with the ever-changing scenes of NYC behemoth, we have the same, never-changing words that parents all over the world say to their children, the constant current in a lost sea.
